British-Pakistani boxing champ Amir Khan and his wife Faryal Makhdoom look alike the most powerful and happiest couple. They pose smiling together when they appear at any event.
Faryal Makhdoom and Amir Khan share each other’s tweets, Facebook tweets. But the story is different from the back-end. Faryal Makhdoom’s Snapchat series showed recently that Amir’s family is harassing her.
The 25-year-old model and make-up artist wrote in her chat that her ‘evil sister-in-law’ Mariyah ‘came to hit’ her when Amir Khan was not present at home. She also claimed that she has no fear of wedding even Khan is supporting her on recent claims.
Faryal said that she broke her silence against her in-laws. “There are many women who suffer in silence due to ill treatment from the in-laws. This dark side is usually kept hidden.”
“We need woman at all levels, including the top, to change the dynamic, reshape the conversation, to make sure women’s voices are heard and heeded, not overlooked and ignored.”
“I am every abused woman’s voice and I am grateful for my husband’s support throughout my ordeal”, she wrote. Reham Khan, the ex-wife of Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan, also supported Faryal on her Twitter account. “A woman has a voice for a reason! Condemn the bullies not the woman who speaks out”, Reham wrote.
“I did it [spoke out on Snapchat] because there are so many Pakistani daughters-in-law who go through this and never speak up,” Faryal — who has been married to the boxing champion since 2013 — told media sources about her recent claims.
“I was one of them, who stayed quiet for my husband’s respect, for my family’s sake. I spoke up to make these women strong… I spoke up to defend my husband who’s done so much for his family but still gets grief, why? I wanted people to see this is unacceptable.”
On the other hand, Amir Khan’s sister Mariyah also responded back rejecting Faryal’s claims about her. “Do I look like I can beat someone up?”, she posted on her social media account.
